Join food photographers, Clare Barboza and Helene Dujardin for a 3-day/4-night photography retreat in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. The workshop is set up for 12 attendees.

Imagine spending 4 nights in a gorgeous house located across the street from the beach in The Isle of Palms, enjoying great food and wine, learning all about food photography and styling from Clare and Helene, and taking lots and lots of photos. Over the course of the workshop, you will learn about exposure, utilizing natural light, composition, choosing props, styling, and how to tell a story through photographs. We are thrilled to have a couple of guest speakers join us for an afternoon, such as a magazine art director and an editor, who will share the ins and outs of their specific field, their experiences and much more.
Price includes:
- transportation from Charleston International Airport (CHS) to the house on Isle Of Palms and back on the day of departure
- transportation to the farmers' market and restaurant on Saturday

- all meals + dinner at restaurant in downtown Charleston
- 3 day photography workshop by Clare and Helene
Tentative Workshop Schedule (subject to change):
Thursday, November 1st:
Meet and greet at 5pm with cocktails and nibbles.
Attendees will be treated to a homemade dinner prepared by Clare and Helene. Please list any food allergies or restrictions at time of registration.
Enjoy the evening walking on the beach, checking out the music scene a block down from the house or get a good night of sleep in preparation of the coming days.
Friday, November 2nd:
Enjoy breakfast on the back deck before gathering with Clare and Helene for your first session of the day!

A field trip to the Charleston farmers market, (bright and early!)
Photo shoot- photographing seasonal bounty and market finds, as well as cooking, styling, composing, shooting breakfast/ brunch

Attendants must bring a DSLR and a tripod. Laptop highly recommended.
No children or babies allowed with attendees as it increases disruption of workflow and sessions for parents and other attendees.
Refund policy:
- 50% of balance is refundable if cancellation is before September 10th.
- No refund after September 10th

The workshop is designed as a community event of 12 people plus instructors sharing lodging, meals and field trips together. While we understand attendees are adults and may decide to go get a burger for lunch instead of the salad we planned (example), they register for the full workshop, not sessions without lodging or lodging without sessions. This is to ensure the best workflow possible and make sure that everyone has the chance to register for the workshop package as designed by the instructors. There will be no exceptions.
Once you are registered for this workshop, there will be no swapping allowed with the one the following weekend.
